“I embrace challenges in life, they help me to expand my understanding of prosperity and inner peace”

Funny the things you can find when you stop at a little out of the way clothing store. My oldest daughter spied a store I had never noticed before. After managing to get across traffic and keeping us from getting smooshed...I pulled into the parking lot. I had no idea what wonderful things were awaiting me in that store. She sold makeup. Medusa's makeup. *key angels singing* The website description:

"This is Medusa's Make-Up most inspiring product. People can not get enough of it! Medusa's Make-Up Eye Dust is truly an amazing mineral eye shadow in the form of fine loose powder, think powdered sugar. This all natural mineral eye dust is by far the best in the industry. It glides on the skin like silk and wears well all day long. Each color carries it's own characteristics, some shimmer, sparkle, some have iridescence and many are highly pigmented. Apply "Stick It" to get a more dramatic effect. Can be applied to eyes, lips and face. 1.5 grams net wt. "

Honest to goodness...I cannot give this eye dust enough kudos, praises, A++++, and whatever other postive reviews are out there. This stuff is smooth as silk when you put it on your eyes. It blends fabulously well and the pigmentation is outstanding!!! A little most definitely goes a long way. This is also a buildable shadow. I highly recommend you purchase their eye primer though. Another one of those less is more situations.

Another wonderful thing about Medusa's makeup. It's not expensive. The eye dust is only $6!!! The eye primer is $7!!! Think about it for a second. Urban Decay eye primer is $30 something. Not that I would spend the money on Urban Decay's primer but that is for a different review.

So...Medusa's eye dust and primer....HUGE thumbs up. Try it. I'm sure you will like it as much as I do.

My thoughts are filled with positive, uplifting and spiritual energy and my face reflects those thoughts!

For any makeup wearer...an eye makeup remover is mandatory. Finding one that isn't too oily, will remove waterproof mascara, remove fiber mascara and other eye enhancing products is difficult. Sad to say...I'm still on the hunt.

I have been using Neutrogena Eye Makeup Remover for the past couple of weeks and to be honest I'm not too impressed. Neutrogena's website states:

Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover takes off even waterproof eye makeup without leaving an oily residue.

Forget harsh tugging and pulling. This ultra-gentle dual phase formula activates when shaken to remove all eye makeup—even waterproof mascara—without any greasy residue. It is ophthalmologist tested, safe for contact lens wearers and oil free.

Take off all your eye makeup the gentle way.

I can't say that is true for me. I've had to keep the cotton pad I use with the product on my eye for quite a while before it will even begin to remove my shadow much less my mascara. It takes quite a bit of wiping and sometimes rubbing to remove all of my eye makeup. Most times I also have to use my Olay Makeup Remover wipes (I'll review these wonders later) to remove the rest of my mascara. I do have to say that it isn't oily and doesn't leave a residue. It just leaves the makeup still on my eyes.

I so very much wanted to like this remover. I love Neutrogena and their lotions and hair products. Giving this a thumbs down. :(

I love myself and am worthy of all the best in life

YES YES YES!!! Now that you are thinking about Sally and the infamous restaurant scene let me tell you about another Yes to Carrots product. Exfoliating and Soothing Mud Mask. Remember "soft as a baby's butt"? Here is another product to achieve that goal. The website description:

"Most masks are meant to hide your face - not this one! We mask you to uncover your radiant, lovely face. Yes To Carrots Exfoliating Mask revitalizes and purifies your skin, firming and tightening to leave a velvety luster and luminous complexion. Don't hide behind this mask, GLOW with it!"

When I first used this I thought it felt funky and yes...it's mud. Mud is going to make me lovely? Why didn't they tell me that when I was a kid? I played in the mud A LOT!!!

I found this one at a discount store for a very lovely price. As you know...I'm a HUGE Yes to Carrots fan so of course I had to purchase it. Brought it home. Opened the container and thought "I'm going to put THAT on my face???" It seriously does look like mud. Light colored mud but still mud. I sucked it up, put a thin layer on my face, waited 5 minutes and then rinsed it off. In case you are wondering...yes it does have the baby powder scent like the exfoliating cleanser. Now picture the heavens opening up and angels singing. I could not believe how soft my skin was. It was almost downright glowing. I'm 43 years old!!! I haven't glowed since I was a teenager.

So far Yes to Carrots has not disappointed me. I have one more product that I purchased along with the facial mud. It's hair mud. I'm seeing a trend here. I'll let y'all know what I think of it.

Twilight beauty

I'm a huge Twilight fan and when I saw this tutorial I knew I had to post it. With the Eclipse DVD release on December 4th this is perfect!!!

I love myself for who I am

This is going to be s short review...I think. I was slicing potatoes last night and decided that slicing my thumb would be a great idea. I'm kinda slow on the typing today. But...I'm not wallowing. I'm reviewing and thankful I didn't cut my thumb off. :)

I have long thick hair. Getting volume is not on the agenda for my little hair strands. A woman wants to look sexy sometimes ya know? So what is a girl to do? She uses SAMY Pump It Up Hair Spray. You will have 80's big hair if that is your desire. Seriously. This stuff would hold up in a catagory 5 hurricane. This is the website description:

"Lock in volume! This revolutionary volume building hairspray formula has a fast drying ultra fine mist that actually locks in body and volume on contact. Pump-It Up Hair Spray helps give greater fullness and control to fine, limp hair without wax, residue, stiffness or buildup."

I have found, through trial and error, that a little goes a long way. Don't get crazy with this stuff. If you do you are going to have a mess and I don't mean the sexy windblown mess. SAMY has to get some credit for this spray. It doesn't flake and you can brush through it without pulling half of your hair out. How about those pesky fly aways everyone has and the serum won't keep them down? Just a small spritz of this and your good.

Samy products are in my bathroom to stay. Want to purchase Pump It Up?

I am beautiful inside and out

I'm going to use positive beauty affirmations for my blog titles. It's a great way to start your day and then read a review that will give you something to look forward to and shop for.

Today I'm going to review "Yes to Carrots Gentle Exfoliating facial cleanser". I came across this at a discount store and thought "Okay...the box looks like it's been through a battle zone but the tube is okay and unopened so...why not? It's marked down". I have to say...I am so glad I bought it. Here is how the company describes the product:

"Yes To Carrots Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser brings the spa to you. Pampering you like the professionals, it removes dead skin cells and lessens fine lines, leaving your skin balanced, nourished and radiantly rejuvenated. Go on, pamper yourself!"

Here is how I would describe it. You will have a "softer than a baby's butt" face after using this cleanser. I am a 43 year old woman. I am dealing with skin I've never had. Dry patchy areas, oily forehead and normal in some limited areas. Finding a cleanser that accomodates all of those types is not easy! Yes to Carrots solved my problem.

The cleanser is a very soft lotion that has small exfoliating beads that I would say are about the size of a grain of salt. A small amount will do you whole face though! Remember the saying...less is more. Same applies here. Just about the size of a dime and your face will be happy. Trust me here. I absolutely love the scent. Remember I said "soft as a baby's butt"? This product smells like baby powder or baby lotion. Not overwhelming but enough to let you know where your heading for the feel of your face.

I give Yes to Carrots Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser a two thumbs up. It doesn't dry out the dry areas and it tames down the oily areas. Head to your nearest Target or go to:

Something new

I have decided I need to start a blog reviewing products that I have purchased based upon other reviews. I'm an older woman and most reviews out there are for the younger generation. Not a whole heck of a lot out there for us oldies but goodies. Some of the products I'll have purchased on my own because I've seen it on sale, at a discount store or just wanted to see how the product works for me. I'm not going to stick to just discount or drugstores though. I've also purchased products from Etsy.com that I'm absolutely in love with. Those will also end up on my little world of beauty.

I also think that beauty is not something we purchase at the store or online. Beauty is who we are from the inside out. I'm a fan of positive affirmations and quotes. From time to time I will be posting those also.

Makeup tutorials are not my forte so this blog is going to be geared towards products, their use and how they reacted to this 40 something's skin. If you would like tutorials I will post over in the sidebar some youtube channels that I check out on a daily basis. If there is a particular product you would like me to review by all means leave me a comment or send me an email. :)
